Stigma is a Barrier to Seeking Help

Only 10% of WA state adults are likely to ask forĀ help

In Washington state, only 9,000 of the approximately 90,000 Washington state adults that could be classified as suffering from Problem Gambling might seek help. 1

This needs to change. The public awareness of the risks of sports betting and acknowledgement of Gaming Disorder can help reduce stigma and lead more people to seek help.

Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling has launched its Sports Betting Awareness campaign working with state-wide partners to raise awareness of the risks of Gambling Disorder and reduce stigma so more Washingtonians can find help and in most cases free or low-cost treatment.

Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling offers the 24/7 Washington state problem Gambling Helpline.

Help starts here.
